How the week works
From December 1, 2026, each program week runs like this:
- Sunday: travel to Charlotte.
- Monday morning: your evaluation, which is free.
- Tuesday: your first test socket fitting.
- Wednesday: your definitive socket and delivery fitting.
- Thursday and Friday: adjustments and follow-up, if needed.
Our usual schedule spreads these visits over 2 to 3 weeks; see what to expect at our Charlotte clinic. The one-week program brings them together for patients who travel to us. Patients already come to our Charlotte office from every county in North Carolina and from the Northeast and Southeast US.
Who it is for
The program is for amputees at Medicare functional levels K1 to K4: people who walk, or have the potential to walk, with a prosthesis. Your care is led by Rondell Richardson, MBA, CO, BOCP, a certified prosthetist orthotist who has provided prosthetic and orthotic care in Charlotte for over 25 years. You can meet the team on our About page.
Before you come: your paperwork
Your prescription, insurance authorization and medical records need to be complete before we schedule your week. Sheena, our office manager, handles authorizations, prescriptions and medical records with you, so everything is ready when you arrive.
Insurance
The program works with most out-of-state insurance plans. It does not work with out-of-state Medicaid, except South Carolina Medicaid. See the plans we accept on our FAQ page.
